Cedar siding will last you a long time, as it is resistant to rot, bacteria, mildew, and fungi. Most other types of wooden siding cannot make that claim and require extensive maintenance to keep their appearance. With cedar siding, you’ll just need to have it cleaned twice a year and inspected for termites and moisture periodically. You’ll be good to go.
Cedar siding is available in a variety of finishes and looks. It can be untreated for a natural, rustic look, and it’s available in red and white if you want to give your home a pop of color. A clear finish is also available. Please keep in mind that you’ll have to either re-finish or re-paint the siding every 4-5 years.
